For those that are purchasing BF2 bad company

I know some of you guys are going to rent. But, those that are buying there is a deal going on Amazon for pre-order to get $20 credit for next amazon purchase. You can use this to get MS points or another game whatever...

OK, so a little rant first.

I usually do not trade in games. But decided to trade in a few today and get BFBC2. Man, trading in games that are over 6 months old gets you only a few dollars each. I should have kept them. Oh Well.

I have my copy of BFBC2 and I am ready to play tonight.

Thank god I was able to prestige on MW2 before this came out.

Se you guys tonight.

I just got to level 8 in MW2. At least I unlocked the SCAR again.

Also I've been loving the single player of BC2. Engaging, over the top (not nearly as over the top as MW2's single player) funny, well paced, fun.
Looking forward to some decent squad multi this evening. (4 person squads seem almost made for us).

I played a little more of the Single player last night after we stopped getting our asses handed to us.

And I must say I laughed out loud a few times at the dialog.

I like it also, but I seem to like MW2 slightly better. The combat in MW2 seems smoother IMHO.

Multiplayer is fun in so that I like objective based matches. But the combat (I guess I am not used to it yet) seems very random. Some shots hit perfectly and some do not. A sniper can kill me from a mile away, but when I snipe at someone just across the street they do not go down in one shot.

I do see that you need a good team with a good plan. The randomness of MW2 will never work in BC2. If you do not have a good plan and good communication you will never win a match.

MW2 is a run and gun game.

BC2 is a squad game, unless you stay together, cover one another, fire in bursts and aim for the head, or if you try to lone wolf/run and gun like in MW2 you get spanked.

I remind myself of this every damn time I play.

Well, an Amazon gift cert and all of your reviews led me to pick this one up. I figure maybe I missed something on the demo, I mean you can't all be wrong about a game, right? :)

It really requires you to play in a squad.
Last night the 4 of us (and for the last map 3 of us) were owning faces and capping points. Simply because we were working together (for the most part).

The destructible environments are fun, the things that you can do are awesome (I sniped the pilot of a loaded Blackhawk last night. I wish I could have heard his screams of rage).
The thing to remember is to slow down your pace, kneel before shooting and fire in short bursts. Once you slow your pace you can really do well.

Now if EA can fix the stupid BS server issues, it will be a lot of fun.
